COMPACTION FACTOR APPARATUS
Accurate Workability Assessment for Low-Slump Concrete Mixes
Accurate Workability Assessment for Low-Slump Concrete Mixes
The MSI 2007 Compaction Factor Apparatus is designed for determining the workability of freshly mixed concrete, particularly for low-workability concrete mixes where the conventional slump test does not provide reliable results. Manufactured in accordance with IS 1199, IS 5515, and BS 1881-103, this apparatus is widely used in civil engineering laboratories, construction sites, and quality control departments.
The test determines the Compaction Factor, which represents the degree of compaction achieved under standard conditions, providing a precise indication of concrete consistency and workability.

Operating Manual
Fresh concrete is placed into the upper hopper and released through the quick-release trapdoor into the lower hopper, and then into the receiving cylinder. The weight of the partially compacted concrete is compared with the weight of fully compacted concrete to determine the Compaction Factor, which indicates the workability and consistency of the concrete mix.
