The Aggregate Polished Stone Value (PSV) / Skid Resistance Tester (commonly known as the British Pendulum Tester) measures the skid resistance and friction properties of road surface aggregates and pavement mockups. Fully compliant with BS EN 1097-8 and ASTM E303, this high-precision instrument utilizes a calibrated spring-loaded rubber slider attached to the end of a physical pendulum arm. As the arm swings, it sweeps across a prepared aggregate specimen surface, recording the frictional drag directly on an integrated high-contrast mechanical scale to determine long-term traffic safety index parameters.
