The Vee-Bee Consistometer is an essential laboratory instrument used to determine the workability and consistency of fresh concrete mixes. It measures the relative mechanical effort required to transform a concrete mass from a conical shape to a cylindrical volume via vibration. Manufactured in strict compliance with IS: 1199 and BS EN 12350-3, this system features a heavy-duty vibrating table driven by a standardized eccentric motor mechanism. The complete kit includes a calibrated slump cone mold, a transparent swivel plate with an integrated scale rod, a tamping rod, and a heavy metal container box to ensure high repeatability during industrial mix characterizations

Working Principle

Fresh concrete is first placed in the standard slump cone and compacted. After removing the cone, the slump is measured using the graduated rod. The transparent acrylic disc is then lowered onto the concrete surface, and the vibration table is switched on. The Vee Bee Time is recorded as the number of seconds required for the concrete to completely remold and make full contact with the underside of the acrylic disc.
