Product Description
The Multitech Scientific Instruments MSI 3013 Methylene Blue Test Set is an advanced laboratory diagnostic system designed to calculate the methylene blue value (MBV) of the 0 to 2 mm particle size fraction in fine aggregates. This test directly quantifies the proportion of active, swelling clay minerals (such as smectite and kaolinite) present in structural sand components. By measuring the absorption limits of a standardized dye solution onto the aggregate particles, material quality control inspectors can easily screen out contaminants that could compromise the bonding performance of concrete and asphalt mixes.
