The MSI 3051 Floating Consolidation Cells (Oedometer Cells) are designed for controlled one-dimensional consolidation testing of soil specimens. The floating-ring design allows the soil specimen to be confined laterally while vertical loading and deformation are measured under controlled laboratory conditions.

The cells are available in different specimen diameters and thicknesses to suit various consolidation testing requirements. Each assembly is supplied with the necessary porous stones, pressure pad, cutting collar, guide rings, and water trough arrangement as applicable.
